The National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA) is a Commonwealth Statutory agency, established under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 to provide a modern “duty of care” health and safety regime for the offshore petroleum industry, including designated coastal waters of the States and Northern Territory.
Offshore petroleum facilities include fixed and mobile production and drilling equipment, licensed pipelines and vessels carrying out associated activities such as construction, pipe lay and provision of accommodation.

You will be responsible for managing all commercial and technical aspects of the Safety Authority including;
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory policies and procedures
- Strategic business and operational planning and performance measurement
- Managing all key stakeholders and staff
- Preparation of reports to meet Board and Ministerial requirements
The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and an in-depth knowledge of safety policies, procedures and issues relating to the petroleum or other resource sectors. Experience in a senior executive role managing complex stakeholder relationships involving government and industry bodies will be highly regarded.
An attractive remuneration package is offered for this role. The appointment will be for a period up to 5 years and is based in Perth.
