The National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA) is a government statutory agency mandated to work with industry to improve health and safety outcomes across the offshore petroleum industry and deliver good practice health and safety regulation for Australia.

We are seeking senior drilling, completion, and petroleum engineering operations candidates to fill a number of roles immediately, and to fill further positions over the next 12 months.
The role
Primarily office based but with offshore visits, the successful candidates will be required to assist in the regulation of the management of health and safety risk at offshore facilities through:
- provision of wells related technical advice in a legislative context.
- contribution to the development of internal processes.
- assessment of safety cases and associated documents; and
- audit of offshore operations and investigation of accidents and incidents.
The candidates
The preferred candidates will have:
- a tertiary level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline;
- A minimum of 7 years experience in a well engineering role, encompassing well design, preparation of drilling, completion and well testing programmes including the planning, coordination and supervision of the field execution of such programmes in an offshore environment.
For these positions you will be required to:
- be adaptable and flexible in you approach to work.
- logically and rationally identify and diagnose problems.
- have excellent English-language, written and verbal, communication skills.
- complete Helicopter Underwater escape training
- undergo security vetting.
