Both the UK operator and the country’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) have launched separate investigations into the 12 September incident in which gas escaped from a separator module on the field’s production platform.
As a result, the platform’s gas detector alarms were activated to trigger an automatic shutdown of the facility and all personnel were evacuated to a drilling platform that is part of the field’s bridge-linked complex of three platforms, also including an accommodation facility.
