It comes as major projects are suffering serious delays and cost overruns, notably Talisman Energy’s Yme field development where costs have soared nearly three-fold compared with the original Nkr4.8 billion ($835 million) budget due to serious technical issues with the platform delivered by SBM Offshore.
Eni recently reported that its Goliat scheme in the Barents Sea could be delayed by almost a year due to construction delays on the field’s cylindrical floater, while it also faces fresh cost overruns of Nkr2.5
