The explorer said it had now received the paperwork approving the assignment of BP’s interest to it from the regulator ANP under May's deal.
However a further final approval expected within three weeks is required before HRT will acquire operatorship of Polvo and complete its related acquisitions of the platform operating company and a 3000 HP drilling rig.
HRT staff are already in place and ready to begin operational preparations for two new development wells once the completion is sealed, with the first spud expected next summer.
