“The Permian basin, specifically the Midland basin, is well-positioned with shallow producing horizons to take advantage of brown sand in order to meet the inflation pressure that could come from white sand,” Halliburton completion and production southern region director Stephen Ingram says.
Ingram gives as examples the shallower portions of the Wolfcamp and Bone Spring plays, where brown sand could take market share.
