Talks have been under way for a number of years about using gas from Israel’s Leviathan and Tamar fields and the Aphrodite discovery in Cyprus to provide additional feedstock for Egypt’s underutilised liquefied natural gas export plants, writes Mark Hillier.

A number of potential agreements are being worked on, envisaging the possibility of piping gas from these regional discoveries to be re-exported from Egypt, but they have not yet led to any agreement being finalised.
