The long-lasting stand-off between top management at Ukraine’s state-controlled Naftohaz Ukrainy and its subsidiary, gas pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz, finally appears to have come to a head, with Naftohaz suspending the executive director of the subsidiary, Igor Prokopiv, at the end of last week.
According to Naftohaz, the decision was taken after an independent auditor apparently confirmed the existence of “suspicious contracts” that the operator signed in 2016.
