DNV said there has been increasing demand among major rig owners for its Integrated Software Dependent Systems (ISDS) notation, aimed at preventing system integration issues that can result in costly yard delays and operational downtime.
The certification process, exclusively developed for the offshore industry by DNV since 2008, is intended to ensure efficient software integration on increasingly complex automated systems on MOUs during newbuild construction or upgrade of existing units.
