Afren currently has a 90% stake in the asset in the far north-west of the island, but Oyster chief executive mike Wood said “we may increase our 10% stake”.
The block hosts the Bandrany prospect on the Ampansindava peninsula.
Wood said “the next programme we will be kicking off in (five) weeks will be to drill half a dozen fairly shallow boreholes down to 400 to 500 metres each”.
