NORWEGIAN state oil giant Statoil plans to conduct a series of new studies to assess the technical and economic feasibility of carrying out further exploration drilling in the northern portion of the Peregrino heavy oil field off Brazil.
Upstream understands that Statoil is eyeing a fresh approach to Peregrino following a failed attempt to unlock hydrocarbon reserves in the structure almost three years ago.
