The UK government and trade unions have voiced dismay after a former North Sea floating production unit ended up on a beach in Bangladesh for scrapping.
Pictures have emerged of the North Sea Producer floating production, storage and offloading vessel languishing on a beach at the Janata Steel yard in Chittagong in south-east Bangladesh.
The fate of the vessel — recently re-named Producer — was revealed earlier this month after an investigation by the Danish investigative journalism centre Danwatch in collaboration with daily newspaper Politiken and broadcaster TV2.
