Petrobras currently has the largest PLSV fleet in the world with 18 units in operation in Brazil, despite suggestions of overcapacity.
A 19th vessel, the 550-tonne Seven Sun, supplied by Subsea 7, recently arrived in Brazilian waters and is due to begin its five-year charter with Petrobras later this month.
In 2017, two large PLSVs will also start their contracts with Petrobras.
