Initially sketched out and presented by Cooper in a 2010 DOT conference paper, the idea, put simply, would see subsea manifolds freed from “all those horrible spools”.
“We can handle quite big structures so we can stick a manifold on the end of a flowline — a bit like a towhead on a bundle — and pull it all in one go,” he explains.
