The unexpected election of Donald Trump as the next US president could yet change the energy landscape significantly, both inside and outside the US.

It could have an impact on Opec, given Trump has promised to rid the US of its dependence on Middle East oil and block imports.

However, in the short term the Opec meeting in Vienna later this month has the capacity to stick $10 on the price of a barrel of crude immediately if all goes well.

The
