ConocoPhillips is shifting its Alaska focus away from exporting liquefied natural gas to building its operations on the North Slope, with the aim of adding at least 65,000 barrels per day of production in the coming years.

Since 2011 the Houston-based company has invested about $12 billion on new projects on the North Slope. “The bottom line is with the current tax structure Alaska remains competitive,” said vice president of external affairs and transportation Scott Jepsen.
