China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has decided to develop the much-delayed Liuhua oil complex in the Pearl River Mouth basin of the South China Sea by means of a subsea production system tied back to a floating, production, storage and offloading vessel.
The decision means that the state-owned offshore operator has completely dropped a much-touted scheme to deploy multiple tension-leg platforms for the field development.
