An international consortium led by the French major has been formally awarded the rights to build and operate a floating storage and regasification unit for the scheme following a preliminary partnership pact signed earlier this year.
The floating LNG terminal will be installed off Vridi with a pipeline connecting the FSRU to existing and planned power plants in the nearby Abidjan area, as well as regional networks, to make it the first regional LNG hub in West Africa, according to Total.
