UK supermajor BP is joining Italian operator Eni at the Shorouk concession off Egypt, which includes the giant Zohr gas field, by farming in for a 10% stake that could be raised to 15% by the time first gas starts to flow late next year.

The move follows recent reports that the Italian major had been looking to farm out a part of Zohr to possible partners, including ExxonMobil, Total and Lukoil, as well as BP.
