A federal plan to phase out all coal-fired power generation in Canada by 2030 could translate into expanded markets and new exploration and development opportunities for the country’s natural gas producers.
Canada’s goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 90% below 2005 levels — and a big step in achieving that is cutting out coal-fired power generation in Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
