A consortium comprising Indonesian player Duta Marine and Malaysia International Shipping Corporation has emerged as the front runner in the race to provide a leased floating production unit for the Madura MDA-MBH gas and condensate project off Indonesia.

Industry officials with direct knowledge of the bid process told Upstream that the Duta Marine-MISC consortium has offered the lowest price. They also said the operating partnership of Husky Energy of Canada and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has recommended to Indonesia’s upstream regulator SKK Migas that the consortium be awarded the contract.
