The company could replace its minority shareholder, state-controlled gas giant Gazprom, as operator of four blocks, according to reports in Moscow.
Moscow business newspaper RBK Daily quoted a letter by Russian Energy Minister Aleksandr Novak in which he responded to a request from President Vladimir Putin to evaluate the possibility of transferring Gazprom’s licences for four blocks on the Yamal peninsula to a special purpose company.
