SERVICES giant Weatherford is shutting down its US hydraulic fracturing business indefinitely after sustaining significant operating losses in the business.
Sources told Upstream the company was not scheduling jobs in 2017 and would pump its last hydraulic fracture treatment in the US by the end of this year.
A Weatherford representative confirmed that the company “made a strategic decision to temporarily pull back our US pressure pumping activities”.
