ExxonMobil, Eni and the Mozambique government are in three-way talks to hammer out a deal that will see the US giant secure a significant stake in the huge Mamba gas discovery in Area 4, which will supply to multiple onshore liquefied natural gas trains.
Omar Mitha, chief executive of state-owned ENH, a partner in Mamba, told Upstream: “ExxonMobil is on the verge of farming in to Area 4 so (at the moment) there is fine tuning in how we structure the governance of the project.”
