According to Omar Mitha, chief executive of state-owned ENH, a partner in Area 1, a final investment decision on the liquefied natural gas scheme could come “at the end of next year or in early 2018”.
Speaking to Upstream on the sidelines of CWC’s Mozambique Gas Summit, he said most of the legal and contractual frameworks required to underpin the project “have been discussed at length, and our expectation is that they will be approved this month”.
