Chesapeake Energy has raised $450 million from the sale of producing assets in the Haynesville shale in the US state of Louisiana with a further disposal lined up in the play that is expected to boost its total divestments above $2 billion.

The sale, to an unnamed private outfit, comprises around 78,000 acres in southern Desoto and northern Sabine parishes — of which 40,000 were seen by Chesapeake as core acreage.
