According to the official results released by the country’s central election commission, Mirziyoyev received almost 89% of votes in presidential elections held on 4 December.
Political analysts expect no changes in the country’s treatment of foreign investors into its oil and gas sector, where state-owned Uzbekneftegaz is their obligatory partner in all upstream ventures in Uzbekistan.
