Shell began evacuating 62 non-essential personnel from the central North Sea facility after an alarm on Friday 2 December.
There has been no loss of containment from the well but the platform has been shut in as a precaution, Shell said.
Industry sources told Upstream the alarm was triggered by a possible “communication” between two annuli — the gaps between well casings — on the field’s SW-04 well.
