China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) has clinched a contract from Nigerian conglomerate Dangote Industries covering the transportation and installation of mooring systems and subsea pipeline needed for a grassroots integrated refinery and petrochemical plant to be built in south-west Nigeria’s Lekki Free Trade Zone, near the capital of Lagos.

The contract, for the offshore element of a downstream job, comes as a boost for China’s leading offshore contractor amid ongoing challenging conditions in the upstream oil and gas sector.
