The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) changed language in the study that had read that fracking had no “widespread, systemic” impacts on drinking water to reflect that fracking fluids can find their way into drinking water through a number of avenues, many unrelated to the actual practice of pumping fluids down the wellbore.
It also admitted that even its Herculean efforts had not closed gaps in data on fracking’s safety.
