German oil company Wintershall is set to launch a front-end engineering and design competition early next year covering a steel gravity base structure destined for its Rembrandt oil project in Block F17a off the Netherlands.
Industry sources said that Doris Engineering — which has completed pre-front end engineering and design work on the steel sub-structure — is evaluating responses from fabrication yards keen to build the 9000-tonne GBS.
