Joint venture partner Carnarvon Petroleum revealed the well hit an estimated 39-metre hydrocarbon-bearing zone near the top of the primary Caley target at a depth of between 5176 and 5215 metres. Quadrant was unable to assess the Caley below 5215 metres due to higher than anticipated pressures, which meant no further drilling or evaluation activities could take place in the current wellbore for safety reasons.
