Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell has narrowed to two from three the field of contractors pursuing a coveted contract to provide it with a floating production, storage and offloading vessel for the redevelopment of its Penguins field in the UK northern North Sea.

The race to provide a Sevan ­Marine-designed cylindrical FPSO is now down to French giant Technip and Fluor of the US, industry sources said.
