Sikorsky issued on an alert service bulletin ordering helicopter operators to carry out a one-off inspection of the tail rotor and bearing assemblies of all S-92 aircraft before their next flight.
The move followed an incident on 28 December in which a CHC-operated S-92 helicopter developed a technical fault during landing on the normally unmanned West Franklin facility, gouging the helideck.
