Pakistan's state-owned oil and gas players have for decades traditionally filled their top positions with employees from within their ranks.
Syed Wamiq Bokhari broke that mould, being the first outsider to head up a state-owned oil and gas company.
In March 2015, Bokhari was appointed by the Pakistan government to spearhead a major transformation drive at Pakistan Petroleum (PPL) — operator of the giant Sui gas field.
