Lebanon has finally taken a major step towards reviving its long-stalled offshore exploration round after last week’s passing of two key decrees that are crucial to allowing international oil companies to take part in the eagerly awaited process.
The renewed push follows the election late last year of President Michel Aoun, who has been keen to get the round off the ground in the hope of finding reserves in the gas-prone Eastern Mediterranean.
