The US independent’s supplemental exploration plan for Mississippi Canyon Block 127 calls for drilling up to two additional wells, according to documents filed with the US Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). Work could start as soon as February and is due to last 90 days, with the second well pencilled in for 2018.
The site is 62 miles (99 kilometres) offshore in 5465 feet of water.
