Speaking at the end of last week in Moscow, Gazprom deputy executive chairman Valery Golubev said the gas giant is proposing to its European customers that they accept LNG deliveries under their existing long-term pipeline contracts with the Russian gas giant.

Golubev said that such deliveries may take place during the winter period to permit Gazprom to answer rapid spikes in gas demand during the period of low temperatures.
