UK independent Tullow Oil has made a significant oil discovery in Kenya that could well prove crucial to underpinning its South Lokichar basin oil export project.
The Erut-1 probe in Block 13T in the country’s north hit 25 metres of net oil pay at a depth of 700 metres.
The PR Marriott Rig 46 drilled the exploration well to a depth of 1317 metres and hit a gross oil interval of 55 metres.
