Permian production is set to increase by 53,000 bpd to 2.2 million bpd, according to the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). By comparison, the region added 37,000 bpd of oil production in January.
The EIA also predicts production in the DJ-Niobrara basin of Colorado and Wyoming to grow by 13,000 bpd to 426,000 bpd. Oil production in the Marcellus shale, primarily a gas play in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, is also set to increase by 1000 bpd to 37,000 bpd.
