Pertamina is targeting production of about 1.91 million barrels of oil equivalent per day from its oil, gas and geothermal operations in 2025 — up from 670,000 boepd last November.

“Hence, we want to be more aggressive in strengthening the upstream industry by trying to exploit more domestic and overseas oil and gas blocks,” a Pertamina spokesperson said.

She confirmed that the company had its sights on acquiring Chevron’s Attaka and East Kalimantan blocks, the production sharing contracts for which expire this year, and also the China National Offshore Oil Corporation-operated Southeast Sumatra block.
