Petronet, India’s number one LNG importer, has set its sights on setting up a floating regasification facility at Kerawalapitiya, near the Sri Lankan capital Colombo.
This new facility could come into operation within three years.
Petronet managing director Prabhat Singh said a receiving and regasification project in Bangladesh was also on the cards, as was a similar, smaller such project in the India-administered Andaman Islands.
