CNPC is the major stakeholder in the Southeast Asia Gas Pipeline Company (SEAGP), which operates the major onshore trunk line delivering gas from Posco Daewoo’s Shwe field off Myanmar to China.
The farmers have threatened to file a lawsuit if they cannot reach a settlement with SEAGP over alleged damage to their crops and land due to the pipeline project.
