The Texas-based company will provide conceptual studies and front-end engineering and design services at the giant Kashagan field as well as other fields in the region, including Kalamkas, Aktoty and Kairan.

The two-year framework agreement will see Fluor’s engineering teams in Atyrau, Kazakhstan and Farnborough, UK carry out studies for NCOC.

After years of delays and setbacks, the $55 billion Kashagan project began commercial output in November.
