The Sharjah-headquartered contractor revealed this week it had cut around 20% of administrative staff, with a number of senior managers made redundant, although no numbers or individual names were given.
However, Upstream understands that among the top brass to be axed is chief operating officer Niall O’Connell, partly as a result of cost cutting but also part of new chief executive Christopher McDonald’s attempt to flatten the company’s management structure.
