A major liquefied natural gas export project proposed on the north coast of British Columbia, Canada, could finally have the long sought-after support of key First Nations in the area.

The Lax Kw’alaams and Metlakatla First Nations have signed a “historic agreement” with the federal and provincial governments to work together on environmental monitoring of the C$36 billion (US$27.6 billion) Pacific NorthWest LNG project proposed by Petronas and partners.

The
