The Texas-based player said it has added about 3140 net acres to its Merge position since it closed a deal last year for 18,000 acres. Jones paid about $136.5 million in the earlier deal, which was announced in August.
Jones did not specify how much it paid for the new acreage, but said it was at an “average cost per acre below the average cost of the acquisition in August 2016”.
