US drilling contractor Transocean confirmed last week that its drillship Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 had been contracted by Woodside for the programme at an undisclosed dayrate.
Woodside offered some clarity on the campaign in its latest quarterly report, saying the first two wells would be appraisals of last year’s Thalin gas discovery in Block AD-7 “focused on reservoir and deliverability with both wells incorporating coring and drillstem testing programmes”.
