A new building originally intended to house late US shale gas entrepreneur Aubrey McClendon’s vast wine collection is now becoming the centerpiece of Oklahoma City’s bourgeoning ballet scene.

Oklahoma City Ballet has bought the property on 6800 North Classen Blvd from McClendon-founded American Energy Partners (AEP) to house its dance centre and other facilities.

The property, for which the sale was set to close this week, will increase the ballet’s available space from 8000 square feet and three studios to more than 28,000 square feet and up to nine studios.
