Industry sources said CNOOC Research Institute (CNOOC RI) sent out questionnaires last week to overseas engineering houses to assess their interest in participation in the upcoming tender for the semisub FEED work.
CNOOC RI will be responsible for FEED studies on the floater’s topsides, which is expected to tip the scales at 25,000 tonnes.
Sources said CNOOC will issue official invitations to tender for the hull FEED in the first half this year, which will likely draw interest from companies including TechnipFMC, SBM Offshore, Kvaerner and KBR.
